#1 Hey guys, not sure where to ask this. So I really loved Sc2, and I thought surely the prequel must be where all the amazing gameplay came from.
So I torrented brood war to try it out(I know piracy bad etc esports kill etc). Unfortunately the pirated version obviously doesn't let you access the multiplayer.
So I've decided to buy the battlechest of Starcraft I. Can someone tell what I need to access the 'larger' populated brood war servers. I've seen threads about third party software that allows you to access the servers but there was no download link and it was in a different language. Also How many people approximately still play the game and how many of those players are still 'bronze'? Was just wandering if I made the correct decision because When I said I loved Sc2, Its mostly because of the multiplayer and mechanics.
Anyone have a weird graphical Glitch know how to fix it?It's when the UI turns all multi-coloured and units don't display the correct colours in the animation i.e. TL;DR: What Do I Need To Acces the Multiplayer (IS THERE A GUIDE?).
How many people still play the game and are of a Low skill cap. Fixing Colour Distortion.
#2 people play on iccup and fish. Fish is more populated but it's 99% korean, and the average skill level is like around iccup C+ and the launcher is a pain in the ass anyways. Download iccup launcher, iccup reg file, and the map pack. You actually don't need a legit bnet key to play on 3rd party servers.
It's lower populated than fish, but people speak english and the skill level is much lower. That said, D/D- on iccup is still the equivalent of plat in sc2 in terms of how hard it is to play the game. If you're not at least diamond/masters in sc2 you can probably expect to lose your first 50 or so games until you get a grip on how to use the mechanics of bw. When you make a game just call it '1v1 D/D- fighting spirit.' Don't make games that aren't on fighting spirit because people probably won't join them so you'll get games faster this way.
Download Jre 1.4.0 here. Ban people who are exactly 1000 points because they're probably new accounts and will stomp you. Make sure to forward port 6112, you can find a guide here on TL somewhere.
Sry i don't remember the color fix but just google it, it's pretty common.
